Last Sunday election took place in Finland and the conservative opposition won the majority. At the same the \u201cFinnen\u201d party made it to second place. Coalition talks are starting and it will be a complicated negotiation period until a parliament majority coalition will be established. The socialist party got the third place and is beaten after 4 years of leadership.
Last September the \u201cSwedendemocrats\u201d were elected second strongest party in Sweden. With a message that they are not right extreme, but focus on national needs in the first place they were able to convince especially many young electors.
And in September we witnessed the absolut win of the right wing coalition in Italy under the leadership of Giorgia Meloni. 47% (!!!) voted for this coalition.
I am not talking Poland or Hungary, but these countries are under right wing governments for years now with no intend to change. And I am not talking Le Pen in France with 20%+ votes.
Looking at these results, some topics jump to mind.
Number 1 \u2013 there is a huge population that wants to be heard and has chosen to move away from established parties. And I wouldn\u2019t call that \u201cprotest\u201d anymore.
Number 2 \u2013 This part of the population wants to be represented with more focus on national topics, more care for local interests and infrastructure.
Number 3 \u2013 the above mentioned priorities come clearly before any initiative for foreign affairs or interests for these voters.
History has proven that the start of such developments has to be taken serious. The political movements of voters in such a scale, can develop to a breaking point in society and destabilise cities, countries and governments to the point that no reasonable democratic leadership can take place.
Taking this one step further into society, we just have to take a look what happened and is happening in the US since the last 10 years. The divide in the country has gotten to such an extreme, that society is on the edge of breaking and a normal social life is no longer possible in many parts of the country. January 6th 2021 being the tip of the iceberg.
Political leaders in all countries have to address this development as one of their top priorities. We cant let the society system fall apart and just look at it as a bystander. There are problems and challenges that need to be addressed, discussed and resolved for all the population in any given countries. Ignoring them or not taking them serious is not the solution. The more people engage into this the better. Stopping this trend is crucial.
