A quick one: During the easter time we have a tradition across the world to demonstrate for peace. These marches are called “easter marches” and during different times they had been more or less popular.
With a focus on the Ukraine war, these marches are demonstrating for peace and ending the war initiated by Russia.
There is a group of politicians claiming that these marches are sending the wrong message or are at least naive. They claim that peace with an aggressor like Putin isn’t possible and you shouldn’t even demonstrate for peace without providing the context, that the aggressor has to back down first.
I still believe war is wrong. I still believe people dying in a war is wrong. And I still believe that there are (and have to be) better ways than killing people. Demonstrating for peace is never naive. It puts the attention to a topic many people have forgotten since 24th February 2023.
