Exploring

Read a quote this morning that goes like, “you are not going to get very far in life on the basis of what you know. You are going to advance in life by what you are going to learn”.
Its a quote of an old white man – famous for sure – called Charlie Munger (99), best buddy of Warren Buffet. As much as I think old white men should not dominate and rule the world, I believe this quote makes sense (if you really should phrase it “to get far in life”, I am not sure…it is a typical stereo approach that you need to get far in life, maybe you can stay where you are but make this place better ;)).
But in essence, if you want to understand, recognise and make your life better, it ultimately helps if you explore and explore and explore. This can be many things – reading, listening, pure learning, teaching you languages, studying history, talking to foreign people and share your passion (and listen to their passion), discuss with your friends and family, travel around the world and explore new regions, cultures, areas, and so on and so on.
Net-net, all these things will help you to live a better life. Maybe because you find something you like or you find something you do not like, so you can avoid it. And there seem to be an affect on the age as well. People who stay curious and keep exploring seem to get older as they are staying more agile (at least some data proposes that).
