Today she is turning 75 – Grace Jones. When I listened to an interview with her today on the radio, I was pulled into all the memories and times, I shared with her.
She was the first black woman I truly saw on covers and magazines.
She was always provocative.
She was not taking care of any rules or guidelines.
She defined sexuality in public completely new.
She chose album covers with barely any clothes on.
She was playing in movies like, Conan, James Bond or Essence of sex and she wasn’t acting…she was just showing off.
She made herself an art.
The last sentence in the interview was reflecting to her age – she said that in her family many women’s crossed the 100 – so she will do that too.
